Teso: Mehrunes Dagon and the cult of the awakening flame

In The Elder Scrolls Online breaks off the hell! In the province of dark research, the devilish cult of the awakening flame grabs. In cities of Leyawiin and Gideon, the chaos prevails after a murder series. In the southern swamps of the black march, bloodthirsty beasts appear and apart from the ways, dark cultist portals open into the realm of forgetting. In the Toten countries, the Daedrafürst Mehrunes Dagon is waiting for his return to Tamriel. But who is exactly this villain and whose help could the Lord of the destruction in the realm of mortal foot grasp?

The veterans will surely remember the blood-red giants Mehrunes Dagon. He was the major day in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. The Daederrfürst dived even in person in Tamriel on devastated in the form of a horned giant whole landscapes before he defeated from the Golden Dragon Akatosh and re-banished to the realm of forgetting. But before we deal closer to the story of the prince of destruction, we want to explain to you first and just short of what a Daedra is at all.

Who or what is a Daedra?

Oblivion is divided into many levels that are dominated by various Daederrafürsten. Some rich equals of a desert, others, however, appear the mortals like paradise. Source: Bethesda Daedra is a general term for strange creatures that are located in the realm of forgetting (better known as Oblivion). Among the Daedra there are a variety of different peoples, which differ greatly in shape and in the beings. These are a kind of spirit or deities that do not participate in the creation of the world of mortals. Most inhabitants of Tamriel fear the Daedra, as they often combine the creatures of Oblivion with betrayal, death and destruction.

But not all the Daedra are malicious. The beautiful Azura is an example of a moderate daedrafurstin, which is well-tuned the mortal. However, the other Daederrafürsten are usually considering Tamriel with a suspicious look. For this cruel gentlemen of Oblivion, the mortals are no longer than lower creatures that have no place in creation. So several Daederrafürsten tried to submit Tamriel and the mortals. One of them is Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedrafürst of Destruction.

Mehrunes Dagon and the curse of the worldwife

Mehrunes Dagon is a horned giant with four arms. His blood-red figure is strongly reminiscent of the classic image of the devil from the Middle Ages. Source: Bethesda Mehrunes Dagon was originally not a classic Daedra, but a demon, who was associated with the twilight God Lorkhan to overlay Alduin, the world s mother. Mehrunes and Lorkhar are tolerate a devilish plan. They had it on the life of the dragon. The task of Merunes was to collect the few remains of those worlds, the Alduin upgrading, to feed them later to the dragon. The conspirators hoped that Alduin devoures so many chunks at the next Apocalypse that he assumes it.

Alduin, however, came to the conspiracy and set Lorkhar and his Handle Merunes to talk. The cracked Lorkhar spoke out finely and soothed Alduin s anger with lies and flattering. Merunes, on the other hand, had less luck. The dragon cursed the demon, called him Dagon and forced him to destroy all other chunks of past worlds. Mehrunes Dagon, however, fulfilled his new task so well that he earned the nickname prince of destruction.

The power of the words

Mehrunes Dagon embodies the aspect of destruction, that s clear. However, his name is associated with other secular events such as natural disasters in Tamriel. Although multi -une power has grown over unions, his worship is banned in most parts of Tamriel. The Bloodtrote Daedrafürst and his cults are above all the rulers, no matter in which country, a mandrel in mind. Mehrun s name is not only for destruction, but also for riots, uprisings and revolution.

The cults of Dagon are treacherous rebel cells that propagate chaos and anarchy and firmly believe in the right of stronger faith. Mehrunes disciples, better known as Dagonists, are not a new phenomenon, but have always been found in different social classes. These are often charismatic personalities, which above all draw the dissatisfied and freedom-loving citizens in their spell.

And that s exactly what Dagons cult is so dangerous! Although Mehrunes is for destruction, the leaders of the Dagonists do not convert people with fire and sword or brute violence. The cult contacters are masterly intriguers who first like to act in hidden. They often mix among the people, subside the state authorities and fuel dissatisfaction and fear in the population through sabotage and orderord. The whole thing finally culminates in a bloody civil war, which leads sooner or later to the demise of the respective kingdom.

Before the dark machinations of the Dagonists themselves are not mighty richs like the Empire. In the Elder Scrolls Online is the focus of history at the moment of the Order of the Awakening Flame. The cultists have apart from the Empire and prepare themselves in the swamps of dark research on the upcoming Apocalypse. There is a mysterious woman named Celdina. Where sister Celdina comes from and which plans pursue the high priestess, we are still a puzzle. However, what we can certainly say about the Order of the Awakening Flame is that it will not be backed by a crime to pave Mehrunes Dagon the way to Tamriel.

The cult of the awakening flame

Sister Celdina is not unknown. She already appeared several times in the history of the Empire. So Celdina was a few decades of Emperor Moricar as a consultant to the side. He was the father of the legendary traitor s Leovic, who wanted to legalize the belief in the Daedra. Leovics Heresia triggered a bloody revolt in the Kaiserreich, who finally cost him life. It is most likely that Celdina was responsible for Leovics s depth case. That suspects at least council s Lovidicus, who can still remember sister Celdina. In a letter to Captain Rian Liore, Lovidicus Celdina and her role of the Kaiserhof described the following words:

The origin of sister Celdina, high priestess of the Order of the awakening flame, is puzzling and twilight like this dagon listener itself. Source: Bethesda Sister Celdina? I remember this woman. At some point during the rule of Emperor MoriCars, around 2ä 556 or 557 , she came to the white gold tower and then stayed three, four years in Cyrodiil. She was a Breton priestess, grown up, with penetrating, dark eyes and rather cooling occur. I would describe it as strong and statuesk, with a presence and attitude, the Pay attention. I will never forget how scary I stared at Celdina until I almost saw myself to avert the look.

Mir was never so clear what a priestess she was exactly or what function she filled in the yard. During this time, Kaiser MoriCar maintained a true collection of opaque characters among his consultants - witches from the Reik, mystic, charlatane, those who hoped for something from close to the ruler, and more. Silently, Sister Celdina did not seem to give him from the side, but rarely advised him in the presence of the residue of the courtyard. At times, however, she disappeared for months, the gods know where .

Aurely, I promoted investigators to get out what it s going to learn about sister Celdina and how she advises Kaiser MoriCar. They revealed that they grew up in a monastery near Sturmhafen, after being recorded by priests of Magnus as a young orphan. Durcorach s Reikmannenhorde plundered the monastery 2ä 541 and licked her and others in captivity. Finally, when they reappeared many months after the destruction of the monastery, she did so to destroy her loops and leaving out of her orders. She sailed from Dagsturz to Leyawiin and disappeared around 2ä 544 from the screen. Where Celdina spent the subsequent decade, I can not say. She simply appeared somewhere in the white gold tower and joined Kaiser Moricar, who rewarded her with a lower post at the yard. A few years later, she left the courtyard again, as suddenly as she arrived. I never saw her again.

Gangeantion of what we know about the secret alliances of the Langhauskaiser and the rise of cult cult of the awakening flame, I would be little surprised to learn that sister Celdina worked as a priestess Mehrunes Dagons to MoriCars Hof. This did not want to hang Moricar to the big bell - he left this mistake to his son Leovic. But I have to say that I never saw that sister Celdina Magnus has worn sacred symbol, or heard how she spoke a prayer in his name.

The last chess train

The Totenlands are the image of hell. In the Dagon Reich there is the right of stronger. On our heroes, there are doing there with bloodthirsty beasts and fiery demons. Source: Zenimax The catastrophe at the court of Leovic was only the beginning! Sister Celdina has larger plans for all Tamriel. Everywhere in dark research, fiery portals go to the Totenländer. The Oblivion Empire of Merunes Dagon is close to gripping and it will not take a long time until the Daedrafürst seems most likely. The role that plays the high priestess in the Great Story of Gates of Oblivion is not yet fulfilled. However, it does not seem to be a botin of the Apocalypse. In our fight against Celdina and her cult are about more.

And here the big plan of Mehrunes Dagon is the focus. His great goal: to spread his influence on the boundaries of the Totenlanders and conquer the realm of mortals. If he and the cult of the awakening flame should be successful, then Tamriel is truly imminent times. The other Daederrafürsten will become Dagon s rise and but not just tolerate his claim. In the prologue of Deadland DLC , we learn that the conquest train of Mehrunes Dagon in Oblivion beats high waves. The prince of destruction may not suspect that his biggest rivals are just waiting for him to fail.
