The Double Tap function of the Xbox One controller allows you to switch between devices

Using a controller for multiple game platforms can sometimes be a problem. Sometimes you like to switch between PC games and console games, but your wireless controller is not always synchronized with you, or your game elsewhere. Why can life not be simple?

Fortunately, the greatest technological minds that the world has to offer work at Xbox and have found a way to make life easy. Soon, a simple double pressure on a button, you can easily pass your controller from one device to another.

The James Shields Senior Product Scheduler went on Twitter yesterday to demonstrate a new feature, where his Xbox One wireless handler quickly moves from his Xbox to his laptop. It works by simply pressing the synchronization button at the top of the controller. Assuming you have previously synchronized the controller and devices via Bluetooth, you can switch between active devices that way.

Keep in mind that this feature is not really new. At present, it is available on Xbox Series X | S controllers, but this firmware update will bring this feature to Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth support, Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 and XBOX Adaptive Controllers.

Xbox had already detailed this update a few weeks ago, but we see it now in action. As this feature is the subject of ongoing tests, there is no specific date for putting this firmware update, but it seems that it works pretty well, so I hope it will be soon .
