For those of you who are not aware, the Allexander Gross dubbing, known as @Octopimp on Twitter, lent his talents to Eric, a nerd of weapons that ends up tracing the protagonist of Boyfriend Dungeon. When this secondary intrigue has been revealed, some fans were upset, claiming that there was not enough warning about harassment in the initial content warning of the game.

This is understandable, and the Kitfox Games developer has reworked and expanded the content warning so that potential players clarify exactly what they will meet in Boyfriend Dungeon. However, some fans went further and started sending threats of coarse death, hate and general harassment for playing a malefic character.

On Twitter, Gross tackled the controversy with a sense of general disbelief, announcing that he could not believe he had to ask people not to send him hatred against the character. This is not the first time a person involved in a video game is hated by people who blame it because the game is problematic - which is a subjective label in the best case - and this will probably not last. This makes this particular case particularly strange is that fans seem to be upset by the fact that ERIC exists. Whatever your position on the question, Gross is not the character he expresses and he should not be harassed.
